I made Toll House Chocolate Chip cookies today…Oven Heated to 375 and outside temp of 86* combined to make a very hot baker thats for sure! But as the Title says I DIDNT BURN THEM!!! Me and cookies dont get along when it comes to baking them, esp Sugar Cookies! So Brian and Josey get Chocolate Chip or Butterscotch Chip cookies when I decide to make them
I seriously thought about baking bread too but by the time the ookies were done it was just to dang hot to do anymore baking.
I do have inprogress pics of Joseys Back to Basics take 2 socks:
This was taken just after I got the heel turned and he tried them on and declared them a tad tight on the heel but otherwise ok. GRRRRRRR, this pattern fits him fine or should I say did fit him fine until his feet decided to grow WITHOUT my permission I might add! I’m making the second sock per the directions at his request and they wont see the dryer just like the blue ones. Speaking of the blue socks…
yep that there is a hole… it isnt in a wear spot esp now since his feet have grown. The general consensous is that he stepped on something sharp and it cut one of the stitches, which at my Mom’s house isnt a hard thing to do. I fixed it yesterday
(I know, it isnt pretty HEHE) since he refused to let me throw his non-fitting sock away
Guess that means he likes whatever Mommy makes for him!
Ok I have been promising a review of the Patons Stretch sock. I started a pair of Basic Toe up socks earlier, Stockinette Stitch, with a heel flap and gusset using WendyKnits basic pattern. The yarn itself is 41%Cotton, 39%Wool, 13%Nylon and 7%Elastic, with this composition I will expect it to knit up and wear like Knit Picks Risata yarn. It is really stretchy and doesnt agrivate my hands which is a good thing. The color is Olive, not my first choice but is kinda pretty if you like coloros on the darker side. At 50gm/239yds you will need 2 skeins to 1 pair of socks, but the price is good so thats not all bad. I havent gotten enouigh of the sock done yet to take a good picture so that will come later.
I havent come up yet with a good design for the Blended Frog Socks yet and the yarn I was using to test my ideas on is out of commision, did you know wool is good for absorption of liquids? Well I have that small skein to thank for a dry computer…One of the cats got up on my desk last night and knocked over a travel mug that I didnt know had anything in it…Now, that skein has become Tea colored instead of White. I guess I will have to have Brian (or do it myself) wind the skei n up and use it as I try to design the sock.
I dont know yet what is gonna happen to the Jaywalkers,
my Mom says the cuff is to long for her, its to small for my sister, the heel is to tight on Josey etc…I still have my Grandma to check with, she likes shorter socks too so they may end up in the Frog Pond
I like the pattern but I dont think they will be finished they way they are. The felted Slippers are sitting in my bag unloved as well, but they will be worked on again as soon as I deal with the half finished Jaywalker and Finish Joseys sock. I might try to design something specifically for the yarn there too, I dont know.
Since its hot here and I’m getting uncomfortable where my comp is I’m gonna stop the post right here. I’ll see ya tomorrow but for tonite I’m gonna find me a cool spot to sit, watch TV and knit on both the test knit and Josey’s sock. Oh by the way since Next Generation (Star Trek) is now on Mondays, SciFi channel moved Enterprise to Tuesdays so now I have 2 days a week of Trek!!:-) Have a Nice evening all and I’ll see ya tomorrow hopefully with a progress pic of both socks.

Do you have an oven thermometer? If things burn often… I got one and found my oven was being a tad random. A new motherboard part was $450, and I’m waiting to feel rich enough to replace the whole thing. Except it’s a double oven (the bottom one doesn’t work at all.) It’s not bad on the top one, so we’ve just put up with it.
