Happy Mother’s Day!!

This will no doubt be said on several blogs today and and in homes across the country and in other countries. But…In light of yesterdays tragic storms in Oklahoma and Missouri and the ones hitting the Southeast today it will be especially poignant for the mothers and children who have and will be affected. Where I live in SW MO we got extremely lucky last night. The Tornado that wiped out parts of Picher OK, Seneca MO, Neosho, Granby, Newtonia and hit several other small communities on its way to Purdy was on a direct path headed towards Rocky Comfort as it hit Newtonia and thankfully turned and headed due east as opposed to continuing on it’s southeast path. I say thankfully for our sake as we had my son, and my parents with us last night and could see the leading edge of the tornadic storm to the north and west of us and could hear the storm sirens from Wheaton as they went off. We all feel for the families that lost loved ones last nite and their homes in the onslaught that hit from Picher to Purdy. For more info on the damage and tornado tracks check out the Joplin Globe it’s the headline story for todays paper.
I got quite a bit done on Jacob’s sock and the first felted slipper before the storms yesterday. I dont however have pictures uploaded from my camera yet so they will have to come tomorrow, Its sunny out today so will try to get pics outside with my flowers to show it off
Thats all I have for now…Oh yeah AlisonH, after last nites Tornados do you still want to trade a small Earthquake for a Midwest Storm? Just let me know and I’ll see if I can ship one your way, oh the small Earthquake, please make sure you dont send it to the New Madrid Fault. There are a couple of small inactive fault lines in Barry county that would be much better for a small Earthquake.

Uh, I think I’d better stick with what I’ve got. My great sympathies to those who lost homes and loved ones there. My folks’ old house suffered tremendous damage in a tornado once about ten years ago, and they were fortunate not to be home when it hit.
